Regulated Businesses

We are considered the market leader when it comes to advising businesses or partnerships which are regulated by the following bodies:

  • The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
  • The Ministry of Justice (MoJ)
  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW)
  • The Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA)
  • The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
  • The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)

Given the breadth and depth of the regulatory arena in which our regulated business team operates, no two assignments are the same. Our services are specifically tailored to your requirements and you will benefit from a Partner lead approach throughout our engagement.

Most of our assignments inevitably include a review your current systems, processes and client money procedures to ensure that you are fully up to date with the ever-changing regulatory landscape which is tied in with a financial viability review, in addition to undertaking any specific requirements fundamental to the terms of our engagement. However we are often instructed to either source funding for regulated businesses or assist with planning appropriate exit strategies.

Some examples of our recent assignments include:

  • The marketing & sale of an FCA regulated debt management business
  • Viability review and exit strategy proposals for a national stockbroker & wealth management firm
  • Restructuring of an SRA regulated national firm of personal injury lawyers
  • Restructuring advice to a number of MoJ regulated claims management companies
  • Systems & process review on a volume IVA provider regulated by the IPA and ICAEW
  • Independent business review, agreed exit strategy, marketing & sale process for a PayDay lender with in excess of 90,000 clients
  • Advising an affiliate marketing business, with a household brand, on potential regulatory breaches
